From this unit, I learned that tests can be administered to help determine which level of proficiency students are at, understand their strengths and weaknesses in the language, and help place them in different learning curve based on their results. Placement test is usually given during the beginning of class to see where students are placed. Progress tests are given periodically to see the progression of students in class and through out the course. Practice tests are support for students to test their understanding capability before taking the actual assessment. Overall, tests encourage students to not only understand the concept of the English language, it's also a tactic for teachers to see where the rest of the class is currently at and see if they need to focus more on certain areas or continue with their lesson plan.
