The last unit discusses and explains the common problems that a teacher most likely will have to deal with in certain situations. Teachers on the first lesson do not go through the course book. Establishing rapport and knowing the students, their interests and English level is most important. Warmers. such as hangman, are also used to motivate and keep the class fun. One thing I've learned is that it a common technique used for larger and mixed level classes in to use a lot of pair work. For mixed level classes, it is good to pair the stronger students with the weaker ones. This can also be used for reluctant and shy students to bring them into a safe environment. Lastly, listening texts should not be neglected completely, it is important to teach difficult vocabulary before hand.
