Basically in this unit i have learnt the theories,methods and techniques in EFL teaching.Initially i learnt the Grammar-transition method of EFL teaching which was used for hundreds of years.This had drawbacks hence there came also the Audio-lingualism which was based on the behaviorist theories of learning.Other methods of EFL teaching was Presentation,Practice and Production,Task-Based learning, among many.However with so many methods to have come in use,there was no clear answer on one best way. However i learnt about the Engage Study Activate (ESA) method put forward by Jeremy Hammer.This method encompasses all the other previous methods and is appropriate for both the teacher and trainee and therefore is what this course centers around.
