Unit 8 explains the different future tenses. The future can be described with seven tenses:
1. Future simple, will/shall + verb
Used for future facts or promises among other things.
2. Future continuous, will + be + present participle
Used for situations that will be in progress and spontaneous plans, among other things.
3. Future perfect, will + have + past participle
Used for actions that will have been finished at that future time
4. Future perfect continuous, will + have + been + present participle
Used to describe how long a situation will be going on at a future time.
5. To be going to
Form of to be + going to + verb
Used for intentions, predictions (with evidence) and plans.
6. Present simple
Used for more formal situations, timetables and to convey an impersonal tone.
7. Present Continuous
Used for definite arrangements and plans without a time frame.
