From this unit, I learned that speaking and writing is just as important as reading and listening. While writing will help students express their ideas down on paper, speaking will help them voice out their stories. Writing focuses more on the idea of accuracy because of the grammar and the punctuation that's needed to conjure a good sentence, speaking in the other hand leans more towards the idea of fluency. When speaking, students must be able to keep what they're trying to say going. Keeping it more fluid when they present or when they speak. Accuracy is requires for writing due to the idea that, while speaking can be fix instantly, writing takes a longer time to fix because the reader has to understand the message that the writer is trying to convey. Any issue with speaking can be "clear on the spot," while writing will require a higher notion of accuracy. Although sometime in class student generally don't like the idea of speaking due the factors: they are not confident enough, they're afraid to make mistakes or just intimidation. Both speaking and writing are equally important in the sense that both are on different side of the spectrum. Both ideas are requirements for communication, through the form of writing or speech.
