This unit has abundant information on methodological approaches to teaching english tefl classroom. I was surprised to read about so many methods and how you can incorporate methods and various activities to fit a lesson plan. The unit talks intensely about ESA Method, which stands for Engage, Study, and Activate. The main rule to these types of lesson plans is that they all begin with Engage, and end with Activate. Other than that I love the variety you can rearrange them in for an effective, flexible and unpredictable lesson plan each lesson! There is the straight error plan, which follows the traditional Engage, Study, Activate pattern. There is also the boomerang plan, which includes an Activate session after both the Engage and the Study sessions. Finally there is the patch work plan, which is so flexible that you can rearrange the sessions how ever you like as long as they include sufficient balance, as well as begin with Engage and end with Activate. The unit also give tips on how to create smooth transitions and corrections within the lesson as well as guidelines on what and when to correct.
