In Unit 4, I learned about present tenses. There are four present tenses: the present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. The tenses are very important to know because it greatly effects how we understand a situation. For example, “I am reading a book.” Vs. “I have been reading a book.” One implies the reading is being done at that specific moment, and the other is not necessarily at that specific moment but is a continuous action that is happening. The unit also pointed out common ESL student mistakes when learning English, and ways to study that will help to correct those mistakes.
