Unit 19 is an overview of the different types of lessons that a teacher may encounter during their time as an English language teacher. Special groups include beginners either absolute, false, adult or younger beginners. Individual students also fall into this category as does a client who is learning English for work related reasons. Each group has very different and specific needs which relate to their age, competency level and ultimate language goals. Monolingual and multilingual classes also fall into special groups category, each having their own needs to be considered when organizing and planning lessons.
