Unit 3 went over ways to teach a class and correct students when necessary. There are many ways to teach, but the basic class structure is Engage-Study-Activate. It is important to engage the students and maximize English use so they feel comfortable and learn in many different ways. The more a student is able to use their English skills, the better it is for the teacher to determine their level and help them in the areas they need most work. Students can be engaged using many different activities and objects to explore language. Mistakes and errors are different and should be addressed differently. A mistake is a slip and the student should be able to correct themselves because they already have the knowledge. And error is something more deeply ingrained and needs to be more studied to correct the student’s ideas or train of thought. Corrections should be addressed immediately, although it is even more important for the students to be praised for their work so they stay motivated to learn and accept feedback positively.
