English conditional sentences and reported speech are among the most complex and challenging structures for English language learners. Conditional forms should be introduced to students once they are familiar with the basic past, present and future tenses. Teaching conditionals should involve eliciting their formation and usage as well as a considerable amount of interesting activities for practice.
