This unit I learned about teaching the productive skills: writing and speaking and the differences between the two. We learned how both are integral to the learning of the English language, but how writing is often forgotten as it is more complex and often takes more time to explain and practice. I also learned the difference between accuracy and fluency activities and the needs and uses for both, and at what stage in the class we use them (activate/study phases) and at what stages a teacher should control or monitor the activity. This unit I also learned about how we can incorporate games in any age group and how they should be used to create participation and enthusiasm in the classroom. Finally we looked at the different facets of writing and how each component is important in helping students write the language.
