Though not stated outwardly, it's important to ensure students have a good understanding of the English alphabet, speaking and pronunciation before advancing to any other sort of language lesson. This also means that the teacher's handwriting needs to be legible and a good representation of the English alphabet when writing in front of the class. I wonder if teaching them cursive would be a fun activity as well? It is important to include games in your lessons, I think it would be good to include one to each unit of teaching. I believe that teaching fluency in writing and speaking will come later in the lessons, depending on the level of the class. Accuracy will definitely come first with beginners. I wonder if it is okay to sprinkle bits of punctuation into different lessons throughout the term to teach, to go along with teaching grammar and spelling. Important notes from this lesson would be the difference between accuracy and fluency is that accuracy is on producing CORRECT language while fluency is about creativity and using the language. A creative speaking or writing activity should include the accuracy of what you've taught thus far, but also be an encouragement to use different words and grammar. Probably a good idea to include a guideline for creative language activities to include a set number of grammar examples they have learned up to that point. Accuracy and fluency in writing and speaking go hand in hand with reading!!
