Present tenses are the easiest and most basic grammar in English learning, also, in Asia, from my personal aspect, present tenses are the most frequent tenses used in this area. Of course, most misused tenses are also present tenses.
Presnet simple, as the most preffered tense in China, students over here rely on this tense to express everything, which restrict the flexibility of their languages, which casuses their essays as well as their speeches dry and boring. I have tried to fix and pointed out their mistakes, but it seems it takes quite a lot of time for them to quit such habit. I encouraged the students here to use present perfect and present continuous more, but it dosen't work very weill eventually. I suppose I would focus more on this tenses area to make sure these non-native speakers could produce more error-free sentences in the future.
