After reading unit 19, I learned about teaching different types of groups. I learned that there are different categories for beginners such as the absolute beginner and the false beginner. I also learned that especially with beginners and young learners, it's important not to use their mother tongue because they won't try to understand the English. I learned about the importance of conducting a needs analysis especially with individual students and business students. The needs analysis can give the teacher important information such as what particular area in English the students want to improve, and it can also help the teacher plan future lessons. I also learned about some good ways to deal with behavior problems. For example, if a student wants attention, it's a good idea to get the student to actively participate. Overall, this unit was very informative.
