In the first lesson, the teacher didn't introduce himself to the students nor did he knew the students's names. He kept asking their names all the time to ask questions about the subject that he barely explained to the students, making them feel uncomfortable and making them too nervous to answer his questions, specially because he kept saying it was too easy. Firstly, the teacher didn't start the class with an engage stage. He started talking about the grammar, modal verbs, but never gave the students enough material, examples to introduce the theme. When he finally finished his explanations, he asked the students if they understand, certainly they didn't say no. Nobody answered his questions afraid that they would make a mistake and because every answer that wasn't correct he would directly say that it was wrong making them feel intimidaded by him. Secondly, he also did not make any effort to make the class interesting by telling stories, jokes or a game so the students could be interested in learning. He only handed worksheets after worksheets, the students felt bored and desinterested. He also distracted some students talking to them when they were trying to complete the activities. In the second lesson it was completely different, the teacher started the class smiling, introducing himself, asking the student's names that later he was able to call them by names. He broke the ice at the first moment. He started the class using the ESA method, talking about animal to later explain the modal verb can/can't. He gave the students enough information to complete the activities for the Activate stage. The teacher also praised the students and never said rudely when the answers were not correct, he didn't distracted them when they were completing the activities
