After reading unit 14, I learned some important things about course materials. I learned that students can find authentic materials more interesting especially if carefully selected for the students' interests. Authentic materials also tend to motivate students. Creative materials also have their use in the classroom because they can be geared towards the level of the students. For example, it can be a great idea to create a crossword with vocabulary that the students are currently learning. I also learned that textbooks can have good advantages but also disadvantages. For this reason, it's best to replace material that isn't suitable for the students or even supplement the material with additional material. In this way, the lessons are also not predictable. I feel like this unit had many good points.
