This unit is all about past tenses and their usages. As an bEnglish teacher we need to have complete knowledge about different tenses which some of them are past tenses that are covered in this unit. We have four different types of past tenses : simple past, past continuous,past perfect, and past perfect continuous. In past simple structure we need to use past form of the verb . We have 2 different form of verb regular and irregular . Unfortunately there is not any rule for irregular verbs the only way is by memorizing them . In past continuous and past perfect continuous we need to use verb+ing and past perfect tense past participle form. Here we have an quick overview upon the usage of all these four strctures: past simple: for the past actions which took place at a definite time. Past continuous: an action in progress in the past . Past perfect: represent actions that occurred before other actions in the past. Past perfect continuous : represent actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously up to the past moment we are thinking about . To wrap up, as a teacher we need to dominate different types of past tenses.
