In the English language, there are 12 tenses in total while for some other languages there is only 1, while others have only 3 tenses or time frames in their language. This is one of the major obstacles that a learner of the language must overcome.
The lesson focuses on the Present Time or Tense which is divided into four different aspects namely, the Simple, Continuous, Perfect and Perfect Continuous. Each aspect has a different function or use and also each aspect is formed in a different pattern.
It does not mean that if we are referring to the present tense, we only use the present forms of the verb but instead it is a mix of different forms of the verbs (i.e past participles).
Learning the tense system may be difficult and intimidating to learn but it is up to the teacher on how to make it simple and fun to learn.
