I found it very beneficial to see a poorly taught lesson and well taught lesson side by side. Having the board set up before hand for the engage phase helped a lot. In the first lesson, it seemed that pictures were not well used in the engage phase. The students all seemed confused by them. I think it would have been better to have the board set up with the sentence structure, and use the pictures to help the students participate and elicit answers. I thought both lessons could benefit from breaking down pronunciation into syllables for words that the students have trouble saying.
