I have learned about the pros and cons of using a course book or created materials for lessons. A course book provides an excellent outline and structure, but it maybe outdated and predictable. Created materials can be structured specifically to the class, creates variance in lesson plan, and topically relevant for students, but it has not been tested, and must be fully created by teacher. I enjoyed that this lesson emphasized doing a fusion of both. One can use a course book, but can add or modify with created material so the lesson is catered to the students interests and needs.
