In this lesson I learned about the receptive and productive skills necessary to learn a language. In particular, various reading techniques allow us to quickly understand a topic or digest the information at a slower pace. These skills include predictive skills, scanning for specific information, listening/reading detailed text to fully grasp the concept. In addition to these skills, there are a problems to be aware of when reading and listening about a new language. Reading allows the text to be captured on the pager and reread and understood, while listening is only verbally communicated and the listener must think about what is being said. Through pre teaching vocabulary and carefully selecting texts a student can digest the information in an easier way. Creating interesting topics for students allows them to be more engaged in the learning process and is a greater the information presented will be received with enthusiasm.
