A sentence contains at least a subject and a verb. This unit covers the basic makeup of a basic to more complex sentence structure. Nouns (subjects) are countable or uncountable and determines their plural forms. Adjectives describe the subject. They can be used in the comparative form (+er) or superlative (-est) or just as the basic description of the subject. Articles address the noun as definite (the) and indefinite (a/an). Verbs refer to actions and/or states and can be describes as transitive (followed by an object) or intransitive (referring to the action of the verb as a whole.) Adverbs add meaning/information to the sentence. Pronouns are used as substitutes for more precise words and can be personal or possessive. Prepositions show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another noun. Conjunctions join words or word groups in a sentence.
