This unit helped to explain the first lessons that a prospective teacher must understand when it comes to TEFL training. The unit greatly emphasized the many roles that a teacher is to play during a students' education, such as taking control of the classroom, being a rolemodel for English language learning, helping students out with various classroom activities and other ways to assist with the learning process. It also included information on the qualities of what makes a good teacher.
The unit also was informative regarding student patterns and behaviours, what to expect from different cultural and age groups along with what linguistic level each student could be at regarding an initial assessment.
Overall I found this unit to be a very informative read into getting established in English language teaching. The various methods, information and outlines provided in this section helped me to establish in my mind on what are good ways for starting to teach and establishing a rapport with future students.
