The four past tense forms include: The past simple form (-ed), and contains many irregular verbs that follow no rules. The Past Perfect, had + past participle, used to view the past from another viewpoint aka, the past in the past. Lastly, the Past Perfect Continuous, had + been + verb + ing, is used when an action in the past has gone on continuously up this moment of conversation.
