While watching the first video I honestly dreaded the fact that there was a second video that I needed to watch. The teacher was dull, boring, intimidating, condescending and annoying. I actually paused it several times to go do other things because I could hardly stand it. In the second video, even though it was 10 minutes longer I never stopped and was engaged the whole time. These videos emphasize the tremendous importance of not just what you teach but specifically how you teach. I have been in classrooms with teachers who embody both the types of teaching styles shown in the video. I don't even remember the names of the teachers who acted like the first video, and i remember fondly those who taught like the second video. These videos remind me of how important it is to be engaging, involve all your students, be kind and patient when correcting, encourage creativity, smile and to ask yourself "Is this a class I would want to be in?". If the answer is no you should reflect on why and work to change that. The attitude of the teacher is so important for the productivity and performance of the class.
