This unit focused on the teaching of productive skills, specifically speaking and writing. Both of these skills are important for learners; although, writing skills are often neglected by teachers. When focusing on speaking skills, a teacher needs to organize activities that relate to accuracy and fluency. Both are important and different activities and parts of the lesson should have a focus. Fluency is for more creative times and is important in helping the student get comfortable in using the language, even if not always perfectly. On the other hand, accuracy skills are important during the Study time of the lesson. During accuracy focused sections, a teacher should correct students and make sure they are saying words properly and using grammar properly. Writing should not be forgotten or only used as a homework activity. Creative writing can help students think and plan what they want to express and how to express it.
