The Future Tense was the topic of todays lesson. We delved deep into each of the 7 different Tense Systems and meanings.
1. The Future Simple- just by adding "will" to the sentence after the subject and before the verb, you get the simplest form of the future tense
2. The Future Continuous- the general sentence structure is as follows: subject + will + be + verb + ing (the present participle), then you get the Future Continuous form
3. The Future Perfect- here you have "will have" and the past participle of a verb
4. The Future Perfect Continuous- this sentence structure includes the combination of
will have been" and a verb ending in ing
5. Be Going Infinitives- ("going to" future)- by using the present form of "to be", that being am, and adding "going to" plus the base form of the verb, you get the "be going" future tense
6. Preset Simple and
7. Present Continuous- these last two are interesting in that one half of the sentence is spoken in the present tense, so it could technically be considered as such, however by adding a time that this event is to take place futuristically, it should also be considered future tense.
Yes, it's lengthy, and at times confusing, but the unit did well explaining things, giving examples, and making even the trickiest of sentences and their tenses clear.
