This unit focused on the pronunciation and phonics of the English language. I learned that intonation is considered to be the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence. The unit goes on to talk about word stress in a sentence. The two rules about word stress is; one word has only one stress and can’t have two stresses, the second rule is that we can only stress syllables not individual vowels or consonants. The last part of the unit to focus on is articulation and how it affects how we learn English through speaking.
