Unit 1 is about teachers and learners.
1)Teacher's part;
A.Good teachers qualities: good teachers should be patient and kind, lively and enthusiastic, and always should give students rapport and encouragement and correct students.
B.The role of the teacher:
Manager or controller, organizer,assessor, prompter,participant,tutor, resource or facilitator,model, and observer and monitor. Which role should the teacher play depends on the type of activity and also the goal we hope the students could reach.
2)Learner's part:
A good learner should be willing to listen to the language, ask questions, think about the learning method,to make errors and to study.
Then we divide the learners into different ages, then talk about the difference between these different age groups by the following aspects: learning experience,motivation,nervousness,language awareness and behavior problems, and life experience. Different learning experience affects learners study belief with language learning.Adult learners usually are more nervous than younger learners.Learners life experience also affect their class.
From this unit, i learnt that teachers play different roles according to different types of classes or different activities the class may involve.To be kind and patient,correct students and also encourage the students and motivate students to talk more. Now i am an English tutor, sometimes i talk more in class,but now i know i should motivate the students to talk more. Teachers play the good roles, learners could learn more effectively.
