Kingston, Georgia TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
In this unit i have learned that the teacher must be able to inspire confidence in the students. As a teacher we must know when to be firm and when to leave the students alone. A teacher Must be flexible and should be capable to adopt herself/himself in any kind of classroom situation. We must be capable to manage a class in a friendly and relaxed manner while maintaining the correct/suitable discipline for our students. First of all we must respect our students the way we want them to respect us. In order to mange or organize a class we must consider several useful factors like how to use the eye contact, gesture and the voice in an appropriate way to communicate and approach our students. We must also know which classroom arrangement is more suitable depending on the space we have, furniture, age of the students, nationalities and student personalities. Some of the classroom arrangements mentioned in this unit are: orderly rows, circles and horseshoes and lastly separate tables. We also have to consider the Teacher’s position for it makes the student understand what the teacher’s role will be, what kind of activity it is and what the students are expected to do. We must also vary the student’s grouping for it has both it’s pros and cons in order to make them experience every benefit of the class groupings. As a teacher we must also be promt to recognize and solve different class/individual student’s arising/existing problem in an appropriate and in the best way we could to avoid the situation to be worsened.
