This unit is a little difficult, for it's all about pronunciation and phonology. They are actually not taught a lot in teaching, but they are very important. The intonation is the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence. The different pattern of intonation indicates different meanings, for example, the falling intonation indicates that you have finished what you want to say. On the other hand, the stress focuses on individual words. One sentence probably has different meanings when we stress different words at each time. There are also some principles and techniques for stress. Finally, I also learned the phonemic alphabet from this unit.
