Planning a lesson is important for several reasons. Some of them are: to create a logical sequence for the lesson; to have a working document that can be referred during the lesson; to form a record of what has been taught; to be used for someone to cover the lesson in case the teacher cannot get into work. A lesson plan should have some general information about the class such as the class level and the number of students; and what should happen during the lesson. The latter includes the learner objectives, teacher aims, anticipated problems and solutions. After establishing the objectives of the class, the teacher should define all the activities that will be done during the class in order to achieve those objectives. For each class activity, the teacher should describe the procedures, the phase (Engage, Study, Activate), the timing and the interaction (T-S, S-T, S-S).
