The subject covered in Unit 13 relate to an area of English language teaching that is highly important, but that is not easy to teach, i.e. pronunciation. This unit examines the International Phonetic Alphabet and the ways in which it can be used to help teachers and students. Unit 13 also covers related subjects as how we use the mouth to produce different sounds, the importance of word stress and intonation in communicating feelings and intentions, as well as the various ways in which native speakers change and adapt their spoken language. I found all this information particularly very useful for my lessons.
