I enjoyed studying this unit about phonology and pronunciation. It will not just present you with definitions and examples but will also ask you to be inter-active and creative while learning. As a teacher, I think it is vital that you have a sound knowledge about phonology and know how to properly produce sounds and pronounce words and model it to your students. Phonology is the study and science of the physical properties of sounds. It has various relative subtopics such as intonation, stress and phonemic alphabet that were discussed in this unit as well. Intonation is the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence whereas stress is more concerned with individual words. The international phonetic alphabet uses the universal system of one set of phonetic symbols for all speakers of English.
