I learned that a lesson plan is supposed to be a guide for a teacher's lesson. Although it can help set goals for what they want to accomplish that lesson, they should also be flexible and leave room for change. Lesson plans should have engage, study, and activate sessions to ensure the kids can both have time to talk, have fun, and also learn. Some useful ways to do this are to warm up the students by having open-class discussions, then teach the new grammar, then have them work individually or with a group, then at the end come back to the class and share their new findings.
