I would hope that there was a book provided to help me as a guideline. However, I've been in many an adult language class where the teacher just reads from the book. There were no supplementary materials, no games played.. it was all VERY boring. I am more likely to use the chapters in a book to help me plan a progressing lesson plan, but make my own materials and pick certain vocab according to the interests of the students.
