This unit focuses on how to teach productive skills; speaking and writing. The unit is divided into three sections: speaking, writing and games.
The first section focuses on how to teach speaking skills. In this section, I have learned the followings:
- The differences between accuracy and fluency activities
- The three different types of speaking activities the teacher could use
- How to encourage students to speak
- General guidelines about how to create a free/creative speaking activity
The second section explains the importance of spelling, handwriting, layout and punctuation in writing.
Finally, the third section talks about the importance of games in the classroom, while giving examples of games. Throughout these examples, I learned how to use some of these games to help my students to practice their language skills.
