The unit discusses different methodology and techniques for how a class may unfold. It begins with a detailed analysis of the different language-learning methodologies and what their main focus is, before describing a typical "ESA" language lesson - "E" for "Engage", "S" for "Study", and "A" for "Activate". The unit then explains what each step of the class is for, with engage involving warm-up activities for the students, study involving more precise grammatical or vocabulary practice, and activate involving usage of the target language in a particular context. The unit then describes different exercises and how they could be used in a class, before finishing with an explanation on feedback and correction techniques.
