This section covers conditionals and reported speech. I think the section on conditionals is fairly hard and fast with a few minor exceptions for conversational English. One being 2nd conditional is not necessarily hypothetical from the speakers point of view. If someone asked me, "If I slapped you in the face, what would you do?" I would most likely take a parallel form and respond "If you slapped me, I'd slap you back." That is not an impossible scenario like the lottery example. I found the section on reported speech helpful as a guideline and fundamental structure that is all true, but I feel like there is much more variation than is described. For instance, for question 18 of this test, if I overheard Kate ask John in the morning and then later that same day Bill asked me if we need to ask John if he's going to work tomorrow, it is perfectly acceptable to say that "Kate asked John if he is going to work tomorrow." No backshifting of time words and no change of tense, but still reporting. So I would say as far as reported speech in conversational English goes, there are some questions on this test that have equally accurate answers.
