This unit is devoted to pronunciation and phonology. It is the most neglected aspect in teaching English. And as a result, the students have difficulties with. Phonology includes intonation, stress, pronunciation. The normal pattern of intonation in a statement is the Rise/Fall intonation. A word can have more than 2 syllables and it will have 2 stresses. The word stress depends on the speaker, the word that will be emphasized by him/her. And verbs are usually stressed more than any other part of the speech. In fact, articles and prepositions are never stressed.
