In unit 15 we covered various forms of evaluation and testing. A placement test is used to evaluate the level of the learner so they can be placed in classes or groups accordingly. A diagnostic test is similar to a placement test, it is given early in the coarse or unit to evaluate what some students may already know, and help gear the lesson materials towards the needs. A progress test is one given regularly to evaluate what knowledge the students were able to completely retain. An external examination is usually given by an accredited source to apply a high standard to learning.
