This section does a fairly good job at describing phonetics and the phonology of the English language. It should be noted that a part of intonation, that is at sentence level, is not only tone (pitch going up and down) but also stress. So as there is stress on a word level, it would be incorrect to say that stress is only on a word level, as exemplified in the reading for this section. It is also important to note that as layman use phonetics and phonology interchangeably, they are not the same thing. Phonetics is a study of sounds that are used in languages universally whereas phonology is the study of sounds used within a specific language. I would also question voicing as an element of stress, as suggested by the reading. It seems to me to be more of a manner of articulation.
