Overall, this unit explains the importance of lesson planning and teaches us how to write a lesson plan. Throughout this unit, I have learned that a lesson plan needs to have the following main components at the very beginning:
- Name of the teacher, the setting (date, time and class number), Number of students and the class level
- Language Point and Teaching Aids
- Learner's objectives (for students) and Personal Aims (for the teacher)
- Anticipated problems for both students and the teacher (along with a potential solution to each)
After writing these major components down, I have learned that in order to have a clear lesson plan, I need to write down the followings for each individual activity/procedure in our lesson; a description of the procedure/activity, the ESA stage that it corresponds, the timing of the activity, and the type of interaction that it involves.
