This unit aims to equip us with the knowledge to identify the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both teachers and learners. We are also taught about the different roles that an educator portrays depending on the type of activity and what he/she wishes the learners to achieve. I have also learnt how to identify a good learner by recognising the qualities and general characteristics of a good learner and the importance of us as educators to encourage these attributes in our classrooms. I am now more knowledgeable on how to be aware of learner's customs and differences as this could affect the success of my class, also that learners from different linguistic groups may have different problems with the English language, which in why it is imperative to be able to identify the different language levels, as stated in Unit 1.
