I have especially enjoyed the detail description of the patchwork ESA lesson plan. In going through the instruction, I can understand better what it means to design the first and subsequent engage,study and activate stages with a finale of activate stage. The emphasis on pre-teaching unknown vocabularies and structure strikes a cord with me. Yet the balancing act between pre-teachng and exploring remains an unknown to me. Through practice and active observation, I suppose I will get a better grip on this point.
