This unit has made me understand the difference methods and techniques of teaching learners. After reading about the methods and approaches , I know I will certainly use them to test the children who may be different from the rest of the class. I find the silent method hard to always use in a classroom at times because the learner will always want someone to guide them while learning to speak English and if there isn’t someone guiding them , the student could easily lose interest or even feel they are doing the wrong things. I can relate to the Straight Arrow ESA lesson as this is what I’m familiar with and use on a daily basis but after learning about the Boomerang and Patchwork ESA lesson it will just make teaching a whole lot more exciting because every child’s need can be met when teaching by using the different methods. I enjoyed reading this unit and it was very useful to me.
