It was interesting to learn the stressed syllables and overall intonations. However, I don't think a phonetic script is useful to either teacher or student. Eventually student should be able to read words that they've never seen before without phonetic script written next to it. Fluent pronunciation is good to learn but I think teachers should focus more on intonations when they teach, not memorizing and remembering what each phonetic script represents.
