This unit was very enriching for it provided tools to keep in mind when engaging in the teaching english as a foreign language experience and having knowledge of the population to be approached.The unit underlines the importance of defining what type of group is to be approached: is it multilingual, age ranges, level of English language(previews experience),purposes or expectations,needs and wants, objectives.In order to define these categories ,the unit suggest "a needs analysis" which could be a written questionaire or even a personal interview.i definitely find this tool extremely important for not only it provides one with a background of the client, and idea of what the objectives a the course that the class should take, but also,it helps in establishing a relationship and some empathy between student and teacher. On the other hand, the unit also helps in explaining the techniques and different ways to engage conducting a ono to one teaching approach or a group setting.
