Chapter 2 emphasizes the importance of 8 sub categories that was provided through the lesson. Those 8 sub categories that was shown to us were various types of nouns (person, place or thing), adjectives (describing the noun), articles (definite= using the and indefinite= using a and an), verbs (describing an action), adverbs (adding meaning to the action), gerund (adding ing to the end of a word: for example sleep->sleeping), pronouns (more precise of the nouns), prepositions (shows the relationship between a noun and pronoun) and conjunctions (join words or group in a sentence). Each of these categories shows us the English language how to form/create sentences different; whether is is past, present or future.
