This unit focuses on the basics of lesson planning, what should and should not be included in lesson plans, and how to plan multiple lessons such that they fit together and work toward a larger course goal. The lesson emphasizes that while lesson plans should be detailed and specific, they should not be rigid--the teacher should not adhere to the lesson plan no matter what, but rather should be flexible based on whether the class is particularly enjoying or struggling with one activity. The lesson plans then become a place for reflection and feedback after the lesson is over, such that the teacher can improve it the next time.
